Heather single grade kindergarten classes follow a slip session schedule, where the beginning and ending of the instructional day varies depending on their “Early Bird” or “Late Bird” assignment.
- Early Birds: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday, 8:25 am to 1:25 pm
- Late Birds: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday, 9:25 am to 2:25 pm
- Both Groups: Minimum Day Schedule: Wednesday, 8:25 am to 12:25 pm or “8:25 Everybody Day”
- Both Groups: "8:25 Everybody Days": 8:25 - 1:25
The slip session allows for small group instruction, with approximately half the class for the first hour of the day, and then the second half the class the last hour of the day for literacy instruction. Early or Late sessions are determined first by looking at birth dates, with the younger students assigned to the 8:25 session and the older students assigned to the 9:25 session, and then balancing the classes with the students whose birth dates fall in the middle.
All kindergarten students assigned to a multiage class, either a K/1st or a K-2nd class start at 8:25 and are dismissed at the same time as the Early Birds at 1:25 pm.

"8:25 Everybody Days" are for special kindergarten events such as field trips, celebrations, such as the Halloween Parade. Kindergarten teachers will inform parents at the start of the school year of these special days.
Note: All kindergarten students are on the "8:25 Everybody Day" schedule for the first three weeks of school.
