During the month of November, Lori Herndon, librarian, would invite Heather kids to create gratitude leaves to dress our white wooden tree inside our school library with gratitude foliage. Return to School Plan & COVID-19 Resources

The SCSD Board approved the Return To School Plan on November 13, 2020. The plan includes a phased-in approach to returning to in-person learning:
Phase 1: Staff Transition to Campus by November 13; Phase 2: Supporting Urgent Learners; Phase 3: Some In-Person Learning When County is in Red Tier; Phase 4: Full Hybrid Model (TBD).

At Heather, we’re excited to continue to use Reader’s Workshop during distance learning to support literacy learning for each child. The reading workshop is one essential component of a balanced literacy program which also includes read alouds, shared reading, interactive writing, and shared writing.
