Summer Meals and Food Assistance
San Carlos School District wants to ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals and other food assistance during the summer months when school is not in session. We encourage families to consider the following resources available in San Mateo County:
- Seamless Summer Option and Summer Food Service Program are two programs that provide meals without charge to all children ages 18 and under, regardless of income level, prior qualification, or district of residence. The following organizations are offering free breakfast and lunch this summer:
Jefferson Elementary School District: Meals will be provided at the following locations:
Millbrae Elementary School District: Meals will be provided at the following location:
- Additional schools in South San Francisco also will be providing meals over the summer:
- Los Cerritos Elementary, South San Francisco High, Spruce Elementary (addresses and contact information)
The CA Meals for Kids mobile application helps families find nearby California Afterschool and Summer Meal Programs sites through their iOS, Android, or Microsoft devices. Search “CA Meals for Kids” to download the app.

A New Summer Food Program Coming in 2024!
Summer EBT Information: SunBucks is here!
Starting this summer, you can buy more food for your child with California SUN Bucks, also called Summer-EBT. SUN Bucks works just like CalFresh, but for the summer. Children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals through a school meal application or an Alternative Income Form, or get CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal, are automatically enrolled. You don't need to do anything to sign up. SUN Bucks provides $40 per month for food for June, July and August 2024 ($120 total)
